Capricorn Concepts Construction is a family-owned custom home builder based in Spring Branch, serving clients throughout the Hill Country and surrounding areas. We’re a husband-and-wife team, Luke and Mary Claire Patton, and we live and raise our family (we have four kids!!) in the same community we serve.

Luke Patton, my lovely husband, is the Principal Builder. He is a U.S. Army veteran and licensed residential contractor with more than 20 years of hands-on construction experience across multiple trades, including framing, concrete, roofing, electrical, plumbing, and structural systems.

A Spring Branch native, Luke combines extensive field experience with formal architectural training. He holds an Associate of Arts in Architecture from San Antonio College and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Texas at San Antonio. His architectural background allows him to approach each custom home with both a builder’s practicality and a strong understanding of architectural intent - helping projects move smoothly from plans to fully realized homes. Seriously, he’s incredible.

Mary Claire (that’s me!) oversees client communication, project coordination, and the overall client experience. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Texas at San Antonio and spent eight years as a journalist at KSAT12 before joining Luke and turning Capricorn Concepts Construction from a one man show to a family business. I’m also currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Horticulture from Texas Tech University. Where are my plant people? 🙌

Luke officially established Capricorn Concepts in 2019 with a simple belief: people deserve a better experience when building a custom home.

Too often, the process feels disconnected - decisions get rushed, details are overlooked, and communication falls off once construction begins. Our approach is different. As a small, hands-on builder, we stay closely involved in every project and work directly with our clients from initial planning through construction and beyond move-in. The goal is consistent communication, thoughtful execution, and a level of accountability that’s hard to find with larger builders.

Building a home is a major investment, but it’s also deeply personal. The best projects happen when homeowners are part of the process - asking questions, exploring ideas, and seeing their vision take shape.

For us, success isn’t just finishing a project. It’s creating something well-designed, well-built, and lasting - a home our clients feel proud to have been part of creating.
