Capricorn Concepts is a family-owned custom home builder based in Spring Branch, serving clients throughout San Antonio and the Texas Hill Country.

Founded by husband-and-wife team Luke and Mary Claire Patton, Capricorn Concepts brings together decades of construction experience, architectural knowledge, thoughtful design, and direct builder oversight to create truly custom homes.

Luke Patton is the founder and Principal Builder, leading the construction of every Capricorn Concepts custom home. A U.S. Army veteran and Spring Branch native, Luke brings more than 20 years of construction experience and formal architectural education to the oversight and execution of each build. He holds an Associate of Arts in Architecture from San Antonio College and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Texas at San Antonio. His architectural education, combined with decades of field experience, allows him to approach each home with an understanding of both design intent and constructability.

Mary Claire Patton leads early design development, client communication, and the overall client experience at Capricorn Concepts. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Texas at San Antonio and spent eight years as a journalist at KSAT 12 before joining Luke and helping grow Capricorn Concepts into the family business it is today. She is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Horticulture at Texas Tech University, bringing an additional perspective to the relationship between the home, landscape, and surrounding property.

OUR APPROACH

Luke established Capricorn Concepts with a simple belief: people deserve a better experience when building a custom home.

Our collaborative design-build approach connects the vision for a home with the realities of construction. Site conditions, design decisions, budget, constructability, materials, and execution are considered together, helping create greater continuity as a home moves from an idea to construction.

Too often, the process feels disconnected - decisions get rushed, details are overlooked, and communication falls off once construction begins. Our approach is different. As a small, hands-on builder, we stay closely involved in every project and work directly with our clients from initial planning through construction and beyond move-in. The goal is consistent communication, thoughtful execution, and a level of accountability that’s hard to find with larger builders.

Building a custom home is a significant investment, but it is also deeply personal. We believe the best homes come from understanding the land, how our clients want to live, and the details that will make the home distinctly theirs.

For us, success isn't simply completing a custom build. It's delivering a home that feels considered from the first idea to the final detail.
